Juan Chipollini, MD is an urologic oncologist and assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Biophysical Chemistry. He completed his medical education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he graduated with honors. He finished General Surgery internshiand Urology residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He went on to complete a Society of Urologic Oncology-accredited fellowshiat the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute where he specialized in the management of urologic malignancies using both complex as well as minimally-invasive surgery. Dr. Chipollini has research interests involving novel diagnostic biomarkers in urothelial carcinoma. He also studies health disparities in the surgical management of renal cell and penile cancer patients. He has extensive experience with the Da Vinci robotic platform to treat renal, bladder, and prostate malignancies. He also leads in the surgical management of locally-advanced renal cell carcinoma and urologic cancers involving the retroperitoneum. He has an active surgical practice as the only university-based academic urologic oncologist in the state Arizona, and is principal investigator in several clinical trials at the NCI-designated University of Arizona Cancer Center.
