<p>Dr. Apanovich holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Agriculture Biorenewable Resources and Technology from Iowa State University. She studies smallholder agriculture in Uganda and urban food systems in the U.S. using sustainable development and circular economy frameworks. By examining complex agro-socio-ecological interactions in rural and urban areas, her research provides contexualized recommendations for policies that promote resilience and just development.
