Anita B. Thompson, MNRS, is an Assistant Agent in Livestock and Range for Navajo, Apache and Northern Greenlee Counties. She works with small scale livestock producers on topics including animal husbandry, grazing lands management, and toxic or invasive plant identification. Her primary livestock focus is small ruminants such as goats and sheep. She also helps new ranchers or farmers with agriculture specific business support, and assists with arid land agriculture projects related to northeastern Arizona. Her research interests include agroecology, ethnobotany, crop wild relatives, native plants, growing specialty and vegetable seed in arid enviornments and the Arizona seed industry.
