Project has activities and goals to helpLimited-Resource Beginning Rancher (BR) audiences in Arizonabe more economically viable while implementing sound conservation practices and assist Beginning Farmers (BFs) from our last BFRDP project (5 out of 17 locations proposed) to progress and grow their specialty crop sales. Target audiences include Native Americans (9 of 17 locations proposed are tribal), Limited-Resource BRs and BFs, Ranch Hands, Veterans, and other beginning rancher and farmer participants. Educational programs involve: 1)business planning and marketing issues, rangeland and watershed management, and managing/matching livestockwithin different environmental regimes for BRs in Arizona 2) providingfield days, networking opportunities, and one-on-one assistance and personnel resourceson the ground from our last BFRDP project by having 6 UA Cooperative Extension (UACE) Ag. Agents, 6 Tribal Ag. Agents and experts from AACDs be directly involved with the range, livestock, and business management school education proposed, and 3) providingmanagement schools and on-the-ground personnel to assist BFs that started from the PDs last BFRDP to expand their capacity and be more economically viable.
