Dr. Kristen Young is a rheumatologist at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Her research interests include medical education, curriculum development and patient-related outcomes in rheumatology. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Arizona a College of Medicine – Phoenix, where she also served as a chief resident. She went on to complete her rheumatology fellowshiat University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Prior to pursuing medicine, she taught high school and earned her Master's of Education, which spurred her interested curriculum design and implementation. She continues to conduct research on medical education and the training experience. More recently, as a member of the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance GRA) and its clinical advisory sub committee CASC) she is involved in multiple projects relating to COVID-19 and the impact on rheumatology. She has co-led the project on rheumatology trainee experience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
