<p>strong>Jeannette Gabaldόn – Educator, Leader, and Advocate for Equity in Education<strong> <p>Jeannette Gabaldόn is a dedicated educator with over 23 years of experience serving Title 1 schools in the Tucson area. Throughout her career, she has taught elementary and middle school science, social studies, and literature, demonstrating a deecommitment to student success and equity in education. <p>In 2006, Jeannette earned her Master of Education in School Counseling, where she focused on addressing students' social-emotional needs. Her work included facilitating support groups, conducting student and family outreach, delivering guidance lessons, leading dropout prevention initiatives, implementing restorative practices, and providing parenting education programs. Recognizing the importance of leadershiin shaping educational outcomes, she pursued and earned a second M.Ed. in Educational Leadershiin 2018, along with her principal certification. <p>Jeannette has held multiple leadershiroles within Tucson Unified School District, including serving as a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support MTSS) Facilitator. As a Program Coordinator, she played a critical role in curriculum implementation, data analysis, and the development of academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions. Her expertise extends to conducting professional development, mentoring new teachers, and evaluating educator performance using the district’s evaluation framework. <p>Currently, Jeannette is a lecturer and co-director of the Humanizing and Culturally Affirming Teacher, Secondary M.Ed. Program at the University of Arizona. In this role, she supervises and mentors teachers, ensuring they implement equitable and culturally responsive practices in their classrooms. She also oversees program operations, supports student enrollment and success, and actively recruits prospective candidates. Her work in higher education is centered on fostering strong partnerships with school districts across Arizona, ensuring the program aligns with the evolving educational needs of the state and contributes to the development of future educators who are prepared to serve diverse student populations. <p>Jeannette Gabaldόn's passion for education, leadership, and advocacy continues to shape the next generation of teachers and students, reinforcing her lifelong dedication to creating inclusive and effective learning environments.
