About

<p>Scott M. Cowell, Ph.D, is an Associeate Professor of Practice within ENVS. His position duties include updating and transforming in-person courses into engaging online formats as well as helping to lead recruitment and retention efforts of the ENVS Department though outreach to prospective students. In 2018, Dr. Cowell launched an initiative to meet with community college faculty throughout Arizona to pursue 2+2 programs between local colleges and ENVS. In addition to previous research experience within the University of Arizona Chemistry Department, Dr. Cowell has taught for 11 years at the community college level and won the 2016 Outstanding Teaching Award for adjunct faculty at Pima Community College across all disciplines. Dr. Cowell also had extensive involvement in the design and implementation of Pima Community College's assessment program, which included presenting workshops to fellow faculty members on best assessment practices.
