Dr. Victoria Olsen-Mikitowicz is originally from Phoenix, Arizona, and has always called the desert home. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona and then went on to graduate from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While in veterinary school she completed the Global Animal Health Pathway Certification and was involved in animal health research in Ghana and Kenya. Following veterinary school, she returned to Arizona to be a general practitioner. She started her own relief business and has enjoyed the flexibility to work in clinics throughout Arizona, in urban and rural settings as well as in emergency and shelter environments. She is also a control judge for the American Endurance Ride Conference and enjoys competing in endurance with her mustang horse. In 2021, they completed the Western States Trail Ride 100-mile one-day ride The Tevis Cup) Dr. Olsen-Mikitowicz, or Dr. Miki, as she prefers to be known, has a special interest in preventive care, public health, and reducing stress in the clinic. She hopes to bring a strong sense of community to the college and views herself as a connector between students and veterinary colleagues. In her free time, Dr. Miki enjoys horseback riding, skiing, hiking and rock climbing, all of which can be done on Mt. Lemmon depending on the time of year.
