I was born in Havana, Cuba and immigrated with my family to the United States when I was 8-years-old. I have been an Arizonan ever since! I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Arizona, and I began teaching when I was 22-years-old. At first, I taught college Spanish and ESL for nine years. After earning my Master's degree in Language, Reading, and Culture, I taught Language Arts and ELD to children and adolescents for seven years. Now, I am thrilled to be teaching adults again. My driving force is to make a difference teaching English as a Second Language. This is why I sought to join CESL in the summer of 2012. I am honored to be part of such a dedicated and rewarding English program!
