I study how variation in the nervous system develops and contributes to animal behavior. My research examines how social insects allocate tasks, and how these mechanisms shape colony-level division of labor. I also investigate the genetic pathways underlying axon pathfinding during development, focusing on how interactions between canonical development pathways drive sex- and segment-specific neuronal morphology and behavior.
