I am interested in mosquito physiology and the interactions between mosquitoes and human pathogens such as malaria parasites, dengue virus and Zika virus. My lab is currently exploring how various signaling pathways, such as JNK and the insulin/insulin growth factor 1 signaling pathways, affect aging, reproduction, metabolism, development and immunity in mosquitoes. We are also looking to harness these signaling cascade as novel control strategies for mosquito-borne disease using cutting edge genetic manipulation strategies, including most recently CRISPR/Cas9.Show Less
