Mascha has studied and taught at universities in Germany and the U.S. Her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees focus on Indigenous Studies. Specifically, she studied how different cultural paradigms are and could be communicated in the environmental justice discourse. She is an alumna of the Certificate in College Teaching program. Mascha has also been active in inclusive leadershiprograms, serving as HSI Fellow in 2018-19 and as mentor in the Inclusive LeadershiCohort Certificate for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 cohorts, as well as serving as the Scholarshiand Professional Development Resources Coordinator of the Diversity Committee in the POD Network the largest association of educational developers in North America.
