About

My research focuses on understanding the heterogeneous response of cancer cells to chemotherapy treatment. Isogenic populations of cells often show very different responses to identical perturbations. For cancer cells this can manifest in a fractional response to chemotherapy treatment. We use quantitative fluorescence microscopy to study the chemotherapy response in single cancer cells. The goal is to understand at the single cell level why some cells live while others die in response to treatment. We hope to use this information to devise novel strategies to force cancer cells to enact terminal cell fate programs.
