Dr. Alyson Ford specializes in the gaseous content of galaxies and the processes that shape this gas, including star formation, stellar feedback, and accreting gas. To study these topics, she uses multi-wavelength data ranging from the UV through the optical to the radio, as well as 3D hydrodynamic simulations. Important breakthroughs have resulted from her research on gas clouds in the disk-halo interface of the Milky Way and young stars in elliptical galaxies. Dr. Ford has extensive experience with data processing and instrument commissioning, and has a strong interest in space debris, near earth asteroids, and passive, bistatic and active radar.
