Dr. Turker earned his MD from the Istanbul University of Medicine in 1999. He then attendedthe Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine with the Department of Orthopedicand Traumatology receiving his creditation in Orthopaedic Specialty in 2005. He completed aJunior Fellowshiat the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Micro Surgery in Louisville,Kentucky in 2009 and then went on to complete Senior Fellowships at that same institutein 2011. He joined the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, Department of Surgery inJuly 2011 as a Research Associate with the Division of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery,later that same year he was appointed Assistant Professor. In 2014 he was appointedAssistant Professor with the Department of Orthopaedics and as of April of 2016, he nowholds joint appointments with the Department of Surgery and the Department of Orthopaedics.Dr. Turker is an active member of such organizations as the American Society for Surgery ofthe Hand and the Kleinert Society. He is also a member of the Dean’s Research Council hereat the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. He is co-author to a few book chapters andalso is a Translator of Chapters in Monographs from English to Turkish for the Hayat MedicalPublisher Grouin Turkey. He has numerous peer reviewed publications and abstracts andhas been an invited speaker to many Orthopaedics Federations and Congress’ both in thelocal and international circuit. Dr. Turker is actively involved in the teaching of our MedicalStudents and Residents and has also held formal educational sessions for Medical NetworkProfessionals locally.
