Dr. Gervasio is presently involved in estimating and arresting the corrosion of pipeline materials. This work is focused on predicting pipeline failures to help predict when servicing of water delivery infrastructure is needed to prevent loss of service. Efforts involve development of electrochemical sensor and chemical treatment of water for passivating pipe materials to arrest corrosion of pipelines.
